The Finance Director will lead the financial management of a regulated payment institution in Brazil, ensuring compliance with regulations while managing both fiat and crypto activities.
Lead the company’s financial strategy, planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management processes.
Oversee controllership, accounting, and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable accounting and regulatory standards.
Act as the primary financial counterpart for regulators, ensure compliance with financial and prudential reporting requirements established by the Banco Central do Brasil (BCB) and other applicable authorities.
Lead treasury, liquidity management, cash positioning, and banking relationships, ensuring the institution maintains financial resilience and operational stability.
Oversee the financial governance of fiat payment operations, including key payment infrastructure such as PIX, bank transfers, payment processors, and banking partners, ensuring appropriate reconciliation control.
Oversee financial operations related to digital assets, including wallets, custodial balances, blockchain reconciliations, and crypto treasury activities, ensuring accurate accounting treatment, visibility over on-chain transactions, and proper integration into financial reporting and internal controls.
Monitor capital adequacy, balance sheet efficiency, and financial performance to support both growth and regulatory compliance.
Monitor tax compliance and possess strong knowledge of tax legislation to validate tax obligations and support effective tax planning strategies.
Strengthen internal controls, financial governance, and audit readiness across the finance function.
Requirements:
BA/BS in Finance or Accounting (Master/MBA, CMA or CPA preferred)
Extensive experience serving as a CFO, Finance Director, or senior finance executive within a regulated financial institution, fintech, payments company, or digital asset platform. Experience managing finance functions in regulated environments is essential.
Expertise in financial reporting under Brazilian accounting standards and IFRS, including experience managing complex financial reporting environments that involve high transaction volumes and multiple asset classes.
Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks applicable to financial institutions regulated by the Banco Central do Brasil, including regulatory reporting requirements, capital adequacy expectations, and financial governance standards.
Understanding of fiat payment systems including bank transfers, payment processors, and domestic payment networks such as PIX, along with the reconciliation and financial reporting requirements associated with these systems.
Demonstrated ability to operate in highly operational environments, with a self-starter mentality and hands-on involvement in payment flows, treasury movements, transaction reconciliations, and day-to-day financial processes.
Ability to work in an unstructured environment, navigate ambiguity, manage multiple assignments simultaneously, and provide clarity and structure
