Includes presenting at Valneva Canada’s Board of Directors’ meetings and select (Commercial) Group meetings.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting (monthly/quarterly/yearly closings)
  • Transactional Accounting: Receivables (and “O2C” control), mainly in a supervisory capacity i.e. Overseeing 3PL service provider’s delegated administration thereof, though getting involved directly with customers as necessary (past dues, special cases)
  • Transactional Accounting: Payables (and “P2P” control)
  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) (i.e. Budgeting, forecasting, analysis and analytical reporting)
  • Payroll & Benefits Administration
  • Compliance & Control (SOX and Tax administration, notably)
  • Audit (i.e. Assistance to the auditors (external and internal)
  • Collaborate and provide Business/Finance insights to Valneva Canada’s General Manager and commercial organization.
  • Presenting at Valneva Canada’s Board of Directors meetings (Financial portion)
  • Presenting at select (Commercial) Group meetings e.g. Monthly [Commercial] Performance Review
  • Commercial Operations Reporting (e.g. sales volume / revenue / working capital reporting)
  • ESG reporting.

Requirements

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years' experience in Financial controllership

Education:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills:

  • Minimally 5-year experience in financial controllership (depth and breadth)
  • CPA designation
  • Financial Accounting & Reporting
  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
  • Mastery of Compliance & Control aspects (SOX)
  • Mastery of Payroll & Benefits
  • Mastery of Tax (income tax, VAT, payroll)
  • Presentation/communication/inter-personal skills (audiences at all levels, manage information flows 3PL, Corporate Headquarters, US Team, Canada GM and team, external tax advisor, global Finance team)
  • Fluency (thorough) in English and French languages (written/spoken)
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft AX ERP system a plus.
  • Strong Analytical and Problem-solving skills.

  • Able to commute to Valneva Canada office in Kirkland (4/5 days).
