Field Service Technician

We are looking for a Service Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial packaging equipment. This role works with a company that provides equipment and solutions for manufacturing and distribution environments. The position is responsible for ensuring equipment operates efficiently while minimizing downtime for customers. This is a hands-on role suited for someone comfortable troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems in the field.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair packaging equipment at customer sites
• Perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues and implement solutions
• Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams
• Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers
• Train operators and maintenance staff on proper equipment use and care
• Maintain accurate service reports, work orders, and documentation
• Coordinate with internal teams on parts, scheduling, and service needs
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards and company guidelines

Requirements

3+ years of experience as a service technician, maintenance technician, or similar role

Experience working with industrial equipment, preferably packaging or production machinery

Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills

Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation

Familiarity with PLCs, sensors, and automated systems preferred

Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed

Strong communication and customer service skills

Technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred
