💼 Sales Trainer – New EU Markets

About SumUp

We believe in the everyday hero — those who have the courage to follow their passion and the strength to realise their dreams.

Small business owners are at the heart of all we do, so we’re creating powerful, easy-to-use financial solutions to help them run their businesses. With a founder’s mentality and a team-first attitude, our diverse teams across Europe, South America, and the United States work together to ensure that small business owners can be successful doing what they love.

🌟 Team Description

You’ll join our Sales Enablement Function, part of the Global Sales Organization, which empowers our Field Sales teams to perform at their best every day. Our mission is to ensure that every SumUpper in the field has the knowledge, confidence, and tools to help small merchants thrive.

As a Sales Trainer for New EU Markets, you’ll be at the forefront of SumUp’s growth story. You won’t just train new hires — you’ll build the foundation of our Field Sales success in newly launched markets, taking best practice from our established markets. Partnering with the EU Training Manager and the Field Excellence Lead, you’ll design and deliver learning experiences that bring SumUp’s sales culture, products, and customer mindset to life.

You’ll collaborate with Territory Managers, Sales Trainers in established markets and cross-functional teams to understand local market dynamics and tailor onboarding programs that resonate with local sales realities. From creating the first workshops and impactful e-learning sessions to and handing over to in-market trainers, you’ll play a pivotal role in turning new markets into thriving, high-performing sales hubs.

📍 Based in our Paris, Amsterdam, Sofia, or Dublin office, this role follows an office-first model with regular travel across the EU.

🚀 What You’ll Do

  • Deliver onboarding and sales training for new Field Sales reps in emerging EU markets using best practices from established teams.
  • Facilitate live workshops and mock-accreditation sessions to equip new hires with the tools and confidence to succeed.
  • Adapt and localise existing training to suit each new market’s product set, regulations, and customer behaviours.
  • Partner with Territory Managers and the New Markets Team to understand sales dynamics and refine onboarding content accordingly.
  • Track onboarding metrics (conversion to active status, training completion, performance ramp-up) and continuously improve programmes.
  • Support market ramp-up phases — Infrastructure Setup, Traction, and Momentum — before handing over to a dedicated market Trainer once maturity is reached.

💡You’ll Be Great for This Role If You Have

Must-haves:

  • Proven experience delivering live and virtual sales training in fast-paced environments.
  • Sales experience in a field sales or inside sales environment.
  • Strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills across cultures and seniority levels.
  • Ability to adapt training content for different markets and sales contexts.
  • Familiarity with value-based selling and adult learning principles.
  • Proficiency in English and at least one additional European language (C1/C2 level).
  • Willingness and eligibility to travel freely within the EU/Schengen area.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience in field sales or fintech industries.
  • Knowledge of LMS tools and blended learning methodologies.
  • Background in scaling training programmes during business expansion.
