About Us

Since 1982, Vital Research has been on a mission to create vibrant communities by ensuring all voices and experiences are represented through inclusive social science research and evaluation. Our core services of evaluation design and research methodology, data collection, and results dissemination allow us to achieve our vision: a world where every person is valued and has equal opportunity to live life to its fullest.

About the Role

Field Interviewers play a key role in collecting confidential survey data that informs critical social research. This role requires empathy, clear and transparent verbal communication skills, and the ability to be a self-starter. This is a flexible, autonomous, independent contractor role where you set your own schedule and work at your own pace.

Using a company-provided tablet and software, Field Interviewers contact pre-identified participants to conduct surveys via video or in-person interviews. As you collect participant answers, you’ll collaborate with our internal research team to ensure high-quality, ethical data collection that helps elevate underserved voices while contributing to the overall success of the research team.

About the Project

Vital Research, in partnership with the State of Colorado, is seeking experienced Field Interviewers for a statewide project focused on surveying children and their families on their experiences with the Colorado Children’s HCBS Waiver Program. The child waiver program provides services and supports to children with intellectual and developmental disabilities as well as complex health needs and/or life-limiting illnesses. The project will begin with a mandatory virtual training the week of April 20th and will continue through May of 2026 (or until all surveys are completed).

Interviewers will conduct 45-to-60 minute interviews with children and young adults (ages 8-20). During each session, interviewers are responsible for building rapport, creating a comfortable and respectful environment, and administering interviews in accordance with study protocols. Following interviews, interviewers will be asked to share observations and provide feedback to Vital Research staff to support continuous improvement and data quality.
