Electric Hydrogen’s mission is to make molecules to decarbonize our world! Our outstanding people are our most important asset and will allow us to deliver hydrogen from renewable electrolysis for heavy industry, at prices below fossil fuels.

We are looking for a Field Engineer for a Texas-based remote role responsible for owning field operations at Electric Hydrogen’s West Texas (Pecos) plant. This position serves as the primary on-site technical resource, ensuring reliable operation, successful commissioning, and ongoing maintenance of the EH2 plant, while also providing support for other EH2 sites as needed.

You will work with a high degree of autonomy, supporting field execution while partnering closely with operations, engineering, and product teams. This role includes hands-on troubleshooting, customer/site engagement, and continuous improvement of field operations.

This role requires significant travel during the 2026 commissioning phase, including extended on-site assignments at the Pecos plant. All travel-related expenses, including lodging and meals, are covered by Electric Hydrogen.

Primary Responsibilities

• Own operational readiness for the Pecos plant ahead of customer handover
• Own plant performance and uptime during customer operations
• Support installation, commissioning, and startup activities prior to customer handover
• Troubleshoot operational issues and lead root cause analysis (RCA) efforts
• Serve as the primary on-site field engineering contact for Electric Hydrogen’s West Texas customer site
• Respond to urgent operational issues to minimize downtime and restore plant functionality
• Generate reports and present plant performance updates during regular customer meetings
• Act as an escalation point for field-related issues, coordinating cross-functional support when required
• Execute preventive, reactive, and predictive maintenance activities alongside customer and contract technicians
• Manage inventory, spare parts, replacement cycles, and equipment logistics
• Partner with supply chain and operations teams to improve spare parts strategies and lead times
• Ensure proper storage, traceability, and readiness of field tools and maintenance materials
• Utilize CMMS systems for maintenance planning, work order management, backlog tracking, maintenance records, and asset tracking
• Monitor plant health and improve diagnostic capabilities
• Develop and refine SOPs, checklists, training materials, and field service procedures

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required
• 3+ years of field engineering or similar hands-on experience supporting industrial or process equipment
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience within energy, electrochemical, hydrogen, or industrial systems environments
• Experience supporting commissioning and maintenance activities
• Familiarity with CMMS systems, spare parts planning, inventory management, and logistics coordination
• Strong customer-facing communication and relationship management skills
• Based in Texas or willing to relocate to Texas to support the high on-site presence required during the commissioning phase (2026 through early 2027)
