Field Automation Engineer (India)

As a Field Automation Engineer, you will play a critical role in delivering, maintaining, and optimizing automation and digital solutions for advanced life sciences and biotechnology equipment. You will work directly with customers in the assigned region to ensure seamless installation, troubleshooting, and operational excellence of automation systems. This role combines technical proficiency in programmable logic controllers (PLC), software platforms, and networking with strong problem-solving and customer engagement skills. You will contribute to enhancing service operations, supporting planned maintenance, and driving customer satisfaction while working in a collaborative, high-performance environment. Your expertise will also support the growth of service business through automation solutions, expansions, and maintenance contracts. Flexibility, dedication, and the ability to operate in a regulated industry environment are key to success.

Accountabilities

·         Demonstrate, install, and maintain automation, digital solutions, and application software across various equipment platforms.

·         Troubleshoot and resolve breakdowns and network-related issues in accordance with service quality standards.

·         Ensure timely execution of planned maintenance, installations, and system optimizations.

·         Collaborate with customers and internal teams to deliver operational perfection and continuous improvement.

·         Support business growth by promoting service offerings, automation solutions, and maintenance contracts.

·         Document processes, author controlled documents, and assist in training programs to uphold quality standards.

·         Manage small to medium-sized projects and coordinate with external vendors as needed.

Requirements

·         Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

·         6–8 years of relevant experience in automation electrical design and field engineering.

·         Expertise in PLC programming and software development on platforms such as Allen Bradley, GE, Siemens, DeltaV, and WonderWare.

·         Strong knowledge of industrial automation systems, hardware interfaces, and 2D electrical CAD design.

·         Familiarity with government-regulated industries (GMP, GAMP) and compliance standards.

·         Proven experience in troubleshooting, maintaining, and deploying automation and networking solutions.

·         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and remotely.

·         Experience in project management and coordination with external vendors is highly desirable.

·         Exposure to MES environments, OEM product interfacing, validation documentation, and IOQ/CSV processes is a plus.
