Field Applications Scientist II (m/w/d) – Shape the Future of Science in the Field 🧬

Your Role and Impact

  • Deliver hands-on support during customer equipment installations, including assay validation and training
  • Troubleshoot instrument and software issues on-site and remotely with precision and empathy
  • Guide customers in optimizing PCR assays, nucleic acid purification, and sample workflows
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, and Product teams for a seamless customer experience
  • Mentor and coach junior Field Application Scientists and share guidelines
  • Contribute to application notes, presentations, and represent LGC at scientific tradeshows

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or an associated area
  • Proven experience in Oligonucleotide synthesis, analytical methods, PCR Microbiology, and method development
  • Strong communication and customer service skills; confident troubleshooting via phone/email or in person
  • Proficient with lab automation, standard molecular biology tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple customer projects independently
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 75% (internationally)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Proficient in Portuguese and/or Spanish
