Vetements Petite Etoile–Little Star is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Fashion Designer specializing in infant apparel to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will design seasonal collections for Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter, ensuring garments meet comfort, functionality, and aesthetic standards tailored to infants. This role offers flexible hours, typically late morning or noon, and is perfect for designers who thrive in a boutique, trend-conscious environment.
🎨 Key Responsibilities
- Design original and trend-forward infant apparel collections (0–24 months)
- Select appropriate fabrics, trims, and prints with a focus on safety and comfort
- Create detailed tech packs, CADs, and garment specifications for production
- Collaborate with merchandising, sourcing, and marketing teams to align designs with brand identity and market demand
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify emerging trends
- Ensure compliance with infant clothing safety regulations and certifications
- Participate in fittings and make necessary design adjustments based on feedback
- Maintain organized design archives and contribute to seasonal mood boards
📐 Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or related field
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in apparel design, preferably in infant or children’s wear
- Strong portfolio showcasing infant apparel designs and technical proficiency
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD software
- Knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, and fabric behavior
- Familiarity with CPSIA and other infant safety standards is a plus
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
