JOB SUMMARY
The role of the Facility Supervisor is to lead, direct, supervise and coordinate the activities of Maintenance Assistant(s). Responsibilities include facility buildings and grounds (campus), associated support equipment and minor preventative maintenance.
This position will assign tasks to responsible personnel, coordinate maintenance requests with peer supervisors, while overseeing the timely and accurate completion of work assignments. In addition to grounds, this position will assist in preventative maintenance and upkeep of building systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and wastewater management.
The Facility Supervisor provides support to capital projects, manages outside contractors, and contributes to the facilitation of process repairs. At all times, this position will ensure the physical safety of the campus buildings and grounds while adhering to a clean and safe environment for employees and visitors.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Follow established safety protocols and guidelines to ensure full compliance (including direct reports) with company safety policies and procedures.
2. Plan, assign, oversee work and inspect completed jobs/projects to ensure adherence to work order and company expectations.
3. Provide supervision of Maintenance Assistant personnel as they conduct assignments and responsibilities over buildings, grounds (campus), and equipment that supports the facility.
4. Responsible for the appearance, custodial function and safety of the facility, equipment and grounds while ensuring compliance with building and health codes.
5. Possess good leadership skills and the ability to supervise the work of others. Must be able to motivate and work with and through others to achieve desired results.
6. Enforce site standards and expectations by providing in-field oversight, mentoring, and coaching of personnel. Evaluate employee performance while establishing and monitoring proper expectations.
7. Recognize maintenance needs and determine a plan for assigning, tracking, and completing the identified work requirements.
8. Coordinate with the Maintenance Planner to ensure optimum use of Maintenance Assistant time and resources.
9. Assist in scheduling contractors, maintaining outside repair schedules and quality completion of contractor work.
10. In cooperation with the Facility Maintenance Supervisor, assist in the preventative maintenance and inspection of systems.
11. Utilize the computerized maintenance system. Verify work orders to ensure that they are properly prepared and completed correctly.
12. Assist the EHS Engineer in maintaining inspection logs for various equipment and systems to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
13. Update and accurately maintain all necessary maintenance records.
14. Ensures security and emergency preparedness procedures are enforced and implemented properly.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. High school diploma, GED, or technical school completion.
2. A minimum of two years’ experience in a supervisory or leadership position overseeing teams, projects or processes.
3. Possess mechanical aptitude, skills, and ability.
4. Ability to read and interpret blueprints or technical drawings.
Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record for the past 3 years is required.
a. Employees will be required to submit to a Motor Vehicle Record Check upon offer of employment and annually thereafter. An unacceptable record includes a DUI, Reckless Operations, and/or Fleeing the Scene of an Accident.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
1. Experience in troubleshooting, minor repairs and maintaining equipment or similar in an industrial setting preferred.
2. Exposure to or a general knowledge in the areas of plumbing, electrical, HVAC and similar in a manufacturing setting helpful.
3. Above average knowledge of software applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Previous exposure to maintenance scheduling software/apps, such as eMaint or similar Maintenance Management programs a plus.
4. Previous participation or knowledge of Wastewater Treatment Systems helpful.
5. Read, write, and speak the English language.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position has pre-employment testing requirements that may require fitness for duty testing and a vision exam.
Follow general shop safety procedures including the occasional use of safety glasses, safety toe shoes, and hearing protection.
Stand and/or sit for portions of the shift. Move parts (>55 pounds) using hoists, slings, carts, or other handling methods.
Ability to lift fifty-five pounds (55lbs) or less.
The climbing of ladders and use of stairs.
Use hand-held tools frequently.
Managing various chemicals and the use thereof.
8. Use of safety and personal protective equipment is mandatory under some conditions. The following may or may not be required.
a. Ear plugs.
b. Safety glasses/Safety shield.
c. Safety toe shoes.
d. TyVek coverall.
e. Respirators.
