To support this mission, Syngenta’s Automation & Engineering team is seeking a Facilities Management and Engineering in Jalapa, Guatemala. This role will be:

  • Responsible for overseeing facilities operations, equipment maintenance, engineering and electrical site operation while ensuring optimal performance of building systems, infrastructure, and equipment.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive maintenance programs management (preventive/corrective).
  • Accountable for Implement and monitor service level agreements with services hired by Syngenta.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance and safety standards.
  • Work continuously to identify improvements to the service provided and Optimize resource utilization and cost management.
  • Work closely to Engineering team to support the improvements and guarantee all traceability of the projects at site level.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives for facility operations.
  • Drive sustainability and energy efficiency programs.

Accountabilities 

  • Review the supplier delivery against the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and communicate the results.
  • Manage the people and service hired an area level and oversee that all the required services are being delivered to according specification (security, engineering maintenance, cleaning, catering, electrical, heating, lighting and Real Estate). 
  • Be responsible for preparing and agreeing the area budget with Local Leads and monitor spending and accruals.
  • Update and maintain the Asset Essential Maintenance tool as single point of true for maintenance plan.
  • Ensure that all the activities meet all internal and external legal, HSE, Letter of Assurance, fiscal and compliance requirements and that all corporate standards are understood and implemented working with the HSE departments, functions appropriately.
  • Responsible for execution of client satisfaction surveys.
  • Supervise maintenance staff and contractors.
  • Ensure that Legal and Compliance accountability (e.g. OSHA) is clear across the area of responsibility (electrical, equipments and building).
  • Support Internal and external Audit process.

Required  

  • Engineering formation and Knowledge in maintenance management.
  • Experience of managing 3rd party suppliers, including contract management and the operation of SLAs and KPIs.
  • Experience of budget execution.
  • Fluenty English.
  • Excellent communication skills, with both internal customers and external suppliers.
  • Excellent leadership skills with an ability to manage a team and stakeholders.
