ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Performs various fabrications, installations, welding installations, repairs, maintenance of company equipment and facilities using drawings, blueprints, diagrams, etc.
  • Performs “R” stamp welding if certified.
  • Diagnoses machinery/equipment problems and troubleshoots to correct them. Checks all operating equipment, and adjusts all equipment in change-over, etc.
  • Sets up all work and materials needed to be welded, using oxy-acetylene, electric arc, and other welding equipment.
  • Monitors the operations of the waste water plant and performs general maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant as necessary.
  • Conducts bacteriological and chemical tests required by local, state and federal regulations.
  • Observes the condition of waste water entering the treatment plant and the condition of the DAF output.
  • Adjusts the rate of flow of chemicals and polymers for proper waste water treatment according to prescribed standards.
  • Responsible for the accurate completion of a variety of reports as required by local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Performs preventative maintenance tasks per scheduled maintenance program.
  • Responds to all waste water plant codes; determines cause of alarm and makes appropriate adjustments to clear alarm or report cause of alarm or unusual conditions to supervisor.
  • Troubleshoots plant equipment malfunctions and make necessary repairs and maintenance using the CMMS work notification system.
  • Reports work performed in CMMS work-order system.
  • Maintains work tools and equipment in safe working order.
  • Coordinates, directs, and is responsible for the completion of work.
  • Performs other related work as assigned.
  • OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Observes all safety and health policies and procedures with special precautions for lockout/tagout of equipment power sources prior to R&M
  • EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • 5 years similar experience or 2 years trade school certificate combined with 3 years similar experience.
  • Must be able to become a certified forklift operator and certified manlift operator.
  • Performs the most difficult and highly skilled tasks associated with the trade.
  • Requires little or no supervision and is able to independently, through skill and experience, solve most problems related to work.
  • Completes work in substantially less than average time for the respective trade, and applies procedures and knowledge well.
  • 2 years trade school or high education and specialized training/certificates preferred.
  • 5 years similar experience preferred.
  • Ability to obtain “R” stamp welding certification preferred.
  • Ability to operate dump-truck, tractor-trailer, and/or front -end loader preferred.
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Work in conditions related to trade. Some work in confined spaces. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions as well as to intense degree of noise, vibration, dust and dirt.
