Fabrication Process Analyst

Based in Southern California with locations in Malibu, Calabasas and Camarillo; HRL has been on the leading edge of technology, conducting pioneering research and advancing the state of the art. 

Essential Duties:
We are seeking a candidate to join an interdisciplinary team in developing high performance semiconductor and/or superconducting devices. The candidate will contribute to technology development efforts through interactions with vendors and internal HRL teams. They will use their knowledge of wafer fabrication tools, perform analyses of vendor wafer processing and metrology data and electrical test results, and arrange for additional physical metrology to help develop design of experiments and/or process splits to troubleshoot and solve problems.

Required Skills:
Unit process development and wafer process integration in moderate volume wafer fab
Experience developing and executing novel wafer fabrication process flows.
Developing wafer fabrication unit processes in Photolithography, Thin Film Deposition, Thin Film Etching and Wafer Wet Processing. Knowledge of DOE methodology a plus.
Experience with analyzing wafer processes using physical metrology techniques such as FIBSEM, TEM, EELS, EDX
Data analysis and plotting using Excel/JMP or similar software.
Experience working with superconducting materials
Experience with Cadence or other microfabrication layout software.

Required Education:
M.S. or PhD in Materials Science, Chemistry, Applied Physics or related fields. 3+ years of relevant experience a plus.

Special Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship. Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance as required.

Compensation:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $104,000 - $174,000 + bonus + benefits.
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that the compensation details listed reflect the base salary only, and do not include potential bonus or benefits.


This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
