Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Set up, operate, and shut down extrusion equipment producing high data rate cable components, including dielectric and jacket materials.
Load raw materials, configure tooling, and adjust process parameters (temperature profiles, line speed, pressure, concentricity) to meet product specifications.
Monitor extrusion processes to ensure dimensional accuracy, surface quality, and material performance in accordance with engineering and quality standards.
Perform in‑process inspections and measurements using appropriate gauges, micrometers, laser measurement systems, and continuity or spark testers.
Document process parameters, production results, and quality data in manufacturing execution systems (MES) or production logs.
Troubleshoot process deviations, material issues, and equipment malfunctions; make real‑time adjustments to maintain yield and minimize scrap.
Perform routine preventative maintenance and cleaning on extrusion lines and auxiliary equipment; escalate complex mechanical or electrical issues to Maintenance or Engineering.
Follow all safety, housekeeping, and environmental procedures, including lockout/tagout and material handling requirements.
Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance teams during new product introductions, trials, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement activities focused on quality, efficiency, and cost reduction.

Required Experience:

Minimum of 2–4 years of hands‑on extrusion experience, preferably in wire, cable, tubing, or polymer processing environments.
Working knowledge of thermoplastic materials commonly used in high‑performance cable applications (e.g., PE, FEP, PTFE, PVC, TPU).
Ability to read and interpret work instructions, engineering drawings, and process specifications.
Proficiency using precision measuring instruments and conducting in‑process inspections.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment with minimal supervision.
Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and weekends as required by production demand.
Lifting Requirements: Must be able to lift to 50 pounds from floor to waist.
Must be able to sit/stand for at least 90 consecutive minutes and not suffer from any sensory deprivation and/or paralysis of the limbs.

Education:

High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certification preferred.
