About the role
Search is changing fast — and so is how customers discover, compare and choose products.
As AI-powered search and large language models increasingly shape research and decision-making, MYOB is building a new capability focused on how our products and expertise are represented beyond our owned channels.
As External Content Authority Lead, you’ll shape how MYOB appears across high-authority third-party content — from publisher articles and comparison platforms to emerging AI-driven discovery experiences. The role focuses on improving accuracy, credibility and influence wherever customers go to make decisions, whether those decisions are made directly by people or supported by automated systems.
This is an opportunity to build a brand-new program of work, partner closely with content, SEO, product marketing and brand teams, and make a visible impact on MYOB’s future discoverability.
Please note that this is a Fixed Term Contract until the end of 2026 with potential to extend or become a permanent team member!
What will keep you busy...
Auditing how MYOB and its products are referenced across influential external websites, platforms and publications
Identifying high-authority domains that shape customer research and discovery, and defining influence strategies for each
Building and maintaining relationships with publishers, reviewers, platforms and content partners
Shaping and delivering high-quality editorial content, including writing, reviewing or commissioning content to ensure accuracy, clarity and authority
Managing freelance writers or agencies to uphold MYOB’s editorial, brand and factual standards
Monitoring changes in sentiment, visibility and representation across both AI-driven and traditional discovery environments, and turning insights into action
What we'd love to see from you...
Experience in content influence, earned media, editorial partnerships, PR or similar roles where shaping narratives and credibility is key
Strong editorial judgement, with the ability to write, brief, review and elevate content across different audiences and contexts
Confidence building productive relationships with publishers, reviewers or external content creators
Comfort working in ambiguous or evolving environments and designing new ways of working
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence outcomes without formal authority
An analytical mindset, using insight and data to guide decisions and continuous improvement
