What is an Expert Cloud Infrastructure Engineer?
Teknosys is seeking a hands-on Infrastructure Engineer to support and operate our on-premises Kubernetes (K8s) platform and core infrastructure. You will play a key role in ensuring high availability, stability, and performance of the underlying compute, storage, and container platforms that power our applications.
Working closely with DevOps and development teams, you will help enable smooth deployments, maintain production environments, and ensure systems remain resilient, secure, and scalable.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys platform operations, Kubernetes administration, troubleshooting, and automation.
What does an Expert Cloud Infrastructure Engineer do?
Kubernetes Platform Operations
- Deploy, configure, and maintain on-prem Kubernetes clusters.
- Manage worker/master nodes, namespaces, networking, and storage integrations.
- Support application deployments using manifests, Helm charts, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Perform cluster upgrades, patching, scaling, and lifecycle management.
Infrastructure Management
- Manage physical and virtual infrastructure including servers, storage, and networking.
- Maintain virtualization platforms (VMware/KVM/Hyper-V) supporting Kubernetes nodes.
- Ensure efficient resource allocation and capacity planning.
Availability & Reliability
- Ensure high availability and uptime of production environments.
- Implement redundancy, failover, and disaster recovery mechanisms.
- Monitor cluster and infrastructure health proactively.
- Troubleshoot incidents and perform root cause analysis.
Monitoring & Observability
- Set up and manage monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, or ELK.
- Track system metrics, logs, and alerts to prevent outages.
- Maintain performance baselines and optimize infrastructure utilization.
DevOps Enablement & Automation
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to automate provisioning and deployments.
- Support CI/CD pipelines for containerized applications.
- Use Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible) for repeatable setups.
- Automate routine operational tasks via scripting.
Security & Compliance
- Implement RBAC, network policies, and secure cluster configurations.
- Ensure patching, backups, and system hardening.
- Follow best practices for infrastructure and container security.
Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with development teams to troubleshoot environment issues.
- Provide L2 operational support for production incidents.
- Document runbooks, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides.
Requirements
What are we looking for and what does it require to be an Expert Cloud Infrastructure Engineer ?
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in infrastructure, system administration, or platform operations.
- Hands-on experience supporting Linux-based environments.
- Experience managing production systems and resolving incidents.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Ownership of uptime and reliability
- Automation-first mindset
- Effective collaboration with DevOps and engineering teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in production environments
- Clear communication and documentation skills
- Linux server administration
- Virtualization (VMware, KVM, Hyper-V)
- Networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, load balancers)
- Storage systems (SAN/NAS)
- Kubernetes cluster operations (on-prem preferred)
- Docker/container runtimes
- Helm, kubectl, manifests

- Terraform, Ansible, or similar IaC tools
- Bash/Python scripting

- Git workflows
