We have a great opportunity for a part time experienced Veterinary Nurse to join our wonderful team!

At Balwyn Veterinary Surgery, we are a small practice with a caring and passionate team that thrives on providing exceptional care to our patients. We provide many of the services of larger hospitals, alongside personalised and professional care for all our patients, in a genuinely warm and friendly environment.

What it will be like for you
We are looking for the next superstar to join our team. A vet nurse who has excellent animal handling skills and can act like an animal whisperer, keeping a furry friend and their pet parent calm in times of distress. We want someone who enjoys an interesting and varied case load and work environment, and who is passionate about patient and client care.

We are passionate about providing a positive learning environment to make sure our nurses are highly skilled and are mentors to each other. We are happy to teach all aspects of the role and provide opportunities for ongoing professional development.

Requirements for the role:

• We need someone 30 hours a week (including some Saturdays).
• Have a Cert IV in Vet Nursing or equivalent and have over 2 years of clinical experience
• Has excellent knowledge of veterinary nursing procedures and be competent in all aspect of nursing from phone triaging to nurse consults, taking blood/placing catheters and monitoring/recovering anaesthetics
• Assists our veterinarians with a range of different surgeries and procedures
• Some admin duties
