About the Role

Wilson Hand is seeking an experienced, detail‑oriented Paralegal to support our General Counsel with a wide range of legal tasks. This is a flexible, part‑time 1099 contractor position ideal for a seasoned professional who can work independently, manage competing priorities, and produce high‑quality legal work with minimal supervision.

The ideal candidate has strong drafting skills, excellent judgment, and the ability to anticipate needs in a fast‑moving environment.

Key Responsibilities

Legal Document Drafting & Review

  • Draft, revise, and format legal documents, including:
    • Contracts and agreements
    • Corporate governance documents
    • Policies, procedures, and compliance materials
    • Demand letters, memoranda, and correspondence
  • Conduct initial issue-spotting and ensure documents meet legal and organizational standards.

Legal Research & Analysis

  • Perform legal research using reputable databases and summarize findings clearly and concisely.
  • Prepare research memos, case summaries, and regulatory updates.
  • Assist in developing legal strategies by gathering facts and analyzing relevant laws.

Case & Matter Management

  • Organize and maintain legal files, calendars, and deadlines.
  • Support the General Counsel in managing active matters, including tracking tasks, deliverables, and follow‑ups.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external counsel as needed.

Compliance & Corporate Support

  • Assist with corporate filings, entity maintenance, and document management.
  • Support compliance initiatives, including policy updates and internal audits.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure adherence to legal and ethical standards.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of paralegal experience, preferably in corporate, business, or general counsel environments.
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology, document structure, and drafting conventions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with legal research tools and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a flexible work environment.
  • Professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
