North Shore Veterinary Specialist Hospital is seeking an experienced Exotics Veterinary Nurse to join our growing team on a casual basis.
Working within our busy referral hospital, you’ll be part of a collaborative, highly skilled team that provides exceptional care to a wide range of unusual and much-loved species—including small mammals, reptiles and birds. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and love the variety and challenge that exotics nursing brings, this could be the perfect opportunity.
What You’ll Do:
Provide high-quality nursing care to a diverse exotics caseload
Assist with procedures, anaesthesia, imaging, and patient monitoring
Support specialists, and vets across the Exotics service
Deliver compassionate, informed client communication
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe clinical environment
Contribute to the smooth daily workflow of the department
About You:
Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
Previous hands-on experience in exotics nursing essential
Confident with handling, husbandry and nursing care for small mammals, reptiles and birds.
Strong technical skills and the ability to adapt to a dynamic caseload
Excellent communication, teamwork, and time-management
Kind, calm, and committed to patient care
