With a clear international growth ambition and track record, we are looking for a strong and driven candidate to join our Expansion Team. This role is pivotal in turning market strategy into operational reality. The selected candidate will own the critical launch phase in new markets, transitioning directly from validation to execution. You will be the operational cornerstone for early-stage market setups, responsible for building the foundational ecosystem—from acquiring our first drivers and users to establishing core operational processes—that enables scalable growth. The position will be based in Berlin, with frequent business travels to our expanding markets.
What you'll do
Own and execute the initial market launch operations, laying the essential groundwork for new market entries. This includes hands-on management of early-stage driver acquisition campaigns, user onboarding initiatives, and the setup of daily operational reports and tracking mechanisms.
Drive market, industry and company research to equip the management team with relevant and up-to-date knowledge in enhancing organisational readiness when making strategic decisions
Conduct peer analysis and competitor due diligence across existing and new markets, while actively tracking key metrics to provide competitive advantages from a business standpoint
Validate new markets for Lalamove to enter by performing a combination of desktop research, stakeholder surveys, expert interviews, and on-the-ground due diligence
Support in executing new market launches by working side by side with local market team members and collaborating with other functions such as Product, Tech, Business Intelligence, Platform Operations, Marketing, People, Finance and Legal, among others
Inculcate Lalamove’s corporate values and culture in new markets by partnering with the People team to achieve exceptional onboarding and training of new team
What you'll need
5+ years of experience in operations, consulting and/or corporate strategy within the TMT sector; ideally with project management experience launching new markets or products/services
Solid foundation of business knowledge, data-oriented and with strong critical thinking skills
Genuine interest in developing a career in international business and making a positive impact in our global community through technology
Entrepreneurial, hands-on, and resourceful; comfortable with ambiguity and operating in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment with minimal instructions; able to deep dive into the details and willing to roll up sleeves and get hands dirty to drive results and ensure success
Collaborative mindset and ability to partner across the business units and functions; can easily build rapport with different stakeholders and develop meaningful relationships
Driven, proactive and passionate about the company’s mission; a culture carrier that brings a positive attitude
Ability to thrive under pressure and openness to constructive feedback; eager to learn from mistakes and always up for new challenges
Business tech-savvy, with high proficiency in work tools such as Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
Strong communication and presentation skills; able to interact credibly within the team and across other functions; articulate in verbal and written communication in English
Fluency in a foreign language, in addition to English and Chinese is a plus
