We are looking for an experienced and creative Events Director to lead a team of event marketers to deliver excellent Tier 1, 2 and 3 events for Astera Labs, supporting product launch and demo showcases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute repeatable and innovative events programs
- Develop and implement events plans, identifying event objectives, key deliverables, and detailed timelines and budgets.
- Develop and manage event budgets, including negotiating fees and pricing, to ensure cost-effectiveness and optimal resource allocation.
- Manage timelines and deliverables and ensure critical deadlines are communicated, tracked, and met.
- Lead pre and post event briefings to stakeholders to measure success of marketing initiatives and develop responsive recommendations for future campaigns and events
- Drive internal planning while partnering with marketing, product, and sales teams on event branding, collateral, and demos.
- Manage the speaking opportunities program, including abstract development, submissions, management of internal approvals
- Ensure an impactful and consistent brand representation at all events, maintaining brand guidelines in all booth design, signage, collateral, and promotional materials.
- Coordinate all event logistics, including contract management, space reservation, booth layout and services, signage, set-up and tear-down, shipping, staffing, booth activations, and meeting scheduling.
- Drive social media strategy & execution for each event
- Manage vendors, including creative firms, booth builders, printing services, A/V providers, shipping services, catering services, etc.
- Conduct a bi-annual vendor audit with internal reporting; maintain a panel of vendors for each type of service outsourced for events
- Lead the swag/ gifting program, and the keepsake programs
- Lead the creation and maintenance of EBC and demo showcase
- Drive post-event recap with analysis on objectives met and recommended improvements.
- Drive best practices for attendee and customer experiences, promotion, branding/environmental design, customer and attendee communications, as well as other logistical details
- Drive the creation, maintenance and usage with event related tools like Asana, Confluence, JIRA, etc with the highest levels of hygiene and management reporting
Qualifications:
- 15+ years’ corporate events and tradeshow experience, with a preference for background in the technology field
- Strong project management skills and detail orientation with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
- Ability to thrive and effectively deliver in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment; comfortable with changing priorities, last-minute pivots, and willing to roll up your sleeves to ‘get the job done’
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including Powerpoint skills
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills
- Exceptionally creative approach to customer engagement
- Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail-oriented
- Ability to work collaboratively with customers, vendors, and team members; comfortable interacting with a wide range of community members, from C-level executives to engineers
- Knowledge of digital event platforms
- Strong business/office applications proficiency (eg: MS Office, Asana, Confluence) and event technologies proficiency (apps, registration, etc.) with a proven ability to pick up new software quickly
- Available to travel for events when needed.
The base salary range is $170,000 – $200,000. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
