The Detroit Lions are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Event Associate to join their team for the 2026 football and event season. The Event Associate position is responsible for supporting the Events Department with services directly relating to stadium events. Work will include coordinating event services with other departments: catering, broadcasting, facility services, housekeeping, marketing, merchandise, operations, parking, partnerships, premium sales, security, ticketing, etc. Work may be reviewed through oral feedback, throughout meetings and by evidence of event client and team member satisfaction.

This role will run from April 2026 to April 2027. Candidates will need to be able to work 5 days per week including some nights, weekends, and holidays. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Event Associate position will have daily responsibilities including, without limitation, the following:

  • Assist the event leads on assigned events to work directly with the client (pre-determined by employer) and delegate all client needs to the appropriate departments as necessary.
  • Assist the event coordinator with Lions Loyal Member events.
  • Event signage – Ensure all necessary signage is created and displayed for all major events to accommodate guests.
  • Assist with set-up and management of 50/50 raffle: stocking kiosks throughout the stadium prior to game day, tracking inventory on all 50/50 raffle supplies, ensuring all equipment is charged and ready for each game, etc.
  • Represent and promote all major events, including Detroit Lions home gameday activations.
  • Support travel party/ancillary events for the events department.
  • Support event group arrangements: practices, travel arrangements, catering needs, game logistics, signage, etc.
  • Support logistics for event department community outreach programs.
  • Assist with hospitality and gift distribution.
  • Organize and inventory merchandise and gifts.
  • Coordinate event department Food & Beverage needs, including trade, logistics, order, payment, and distribution.
  • Assist with assigned tasks related to the 2027 NCAA Men’s Final Four.
  • Support stadium event operations for large scale stadium events, including but not limited to annual events, gamedays, concerts, dirt shows, etc.
  • Ensure the Ford Field Event website is updated with all necessary and current event information: ticket details, parking/traffic updates, entrances, etc.
  • Analyze post event feedback from each event and determine which operational items can be performed more efficiently in the future.
  • Assist with daily office duties and operational needs of the Events department, including but not limited to making copies, filing, creation and hanging of event signage, and phone/email correspondence.

NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor degree in Communications, Marketing, Event Management or related field required.
  • Minimum of 1 year event management experience required. Experience with a professional sports team and/or entertainment venue preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher, including Outlook, and Adobe Illustrator)
  • Proficiency in Social Media (Facebook, X, Instagram)
  • Proven guest service skills with the ability to deliver positive, professional experiences
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality
  • Position is fully in-person and may require work out of both the Ford Field Management Office and the Allen Park Training Facility
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License and a good driving record
