CC.Talent is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to support an Australian civil and earthworks business in preparing accurate and competitive project quotes. This role plays a critical part in assessing project scope, analysing costs, and supporting commercial decision-making across live construction operations.

The ideal candidate is experienced in civil or earthworks estimating, comfortable working independently, and able to collaborate closely with operations and leadership to deliver timely and reliable cost estimates in a fast-paced environment.

About the Client

Our client is an established Australian civil construction company with a strong operational footprint and a growing workforce. BSET is a purpose-built ERP, automation, and AI platform developed internally and currently operating as a live MVP within the business. Originally built using Claris FileMaker, BSET is now undergoing a full native rebuild using modern cloud architecture, including custom migration tooling to transition live data and workflows without disrupting day-to-day operations.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

Estimating & Quoting

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and project quotations for civil and earthworks projects

  • Review plans, drawings, specifications, and scope documentation

  • Conduct quantity take-offs and detailed cost breakdowns

  • Assess labour, materials, plant, subcontractor, and overhead costs

  • Support pricing strategies to ensure competitiveness and profitability

Project & Cost Analysis

  • Analyse project risks, assumptions, and constraints

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options

  • Maintain and update estimating templates, pricing databases, and cost libraries

  • Assist with tender submissions and quote revisions as required

Collaboration & Administration

  • Work closely with operations teams, project managers, and leadership to clarify scope and pricing

  • Respond to quote-related enquiries and support pre-construction planning

  • Maintain organised estimating records and documentation

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes and workflows

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years’ experience working as an Estimator

  • Experience estimating civil, earthworks, or construction projects

  • Strong understanding of estimating methodologies and cost analysis

  • Ability to interpret plans, drawings, and technical documentation

  • High attention to detail with strong numerical and analytical skills

  • Comfortable managing multiple estimates and deadlines

  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills

Working Schedule

  • Full-time, remote/offshore role supporting Australian operations

  • Working hours aligned with Australian business hours (AEST/AEDT)

  • Expected availability between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM AU time

  • Comfortable working in real time with Australian stakeholders

Nice to Have

  • Background in Civil Engineering or a related field

  • Experience supporting Australian civil or construction projects

  • Familiarity with estimating software, Excel, or cost management tools

  • Previous experience working remotely with Australian companies
