Role Overview
The Estimation Manager will be responsible for leading the tendering process for Real estate development, construction projects, and other services, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all cost estimation activities, and ensuring the required competence is achieved to obtain the most feasible offer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Real estate and construction estimation, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality and timely estimates for construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee the tendering and cost pan process for Real estate and construction projects, including analyzing project plans, specifications, BOQ, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.
Studies and understands the contract documents of each project before, after estimating to determine areas, including provisions of the general or special conditions, that may be ambiguous or present problems or result in unforeseen costs.
Collaborate with the Development, Project Delivery, and Project Management team to understand project requirements and timelines, ensuring that estimation deliverables align with project needs.
Evaluate and analyze project risks and opportunities, incorporating these factors into the estimation process to provide comprehensive and realistic cost estimates.
Utilize industry-standard estimation software and tools to streamline the estimation process and enhance accuracy.
Prepare and present detailed and clear estimation reports to the senior management team, providing insights and recommendations for cost optimization and value engineering.
Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and construction methods to ensure that estimation practices align with current market conditions and best practices.
Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to obtain accurate pricing and availability of materials and subcontractor services.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, standards in the estimation process, prioritizing health, safety, and environmental considerations.
Prepare and update the cost data bank and other cost benchmarks
Dealing with Cost Consultants, external and internal consultants, and going through the cost estimates, and coming up with the best cost proposal.
Dealing with bidders during the pre-contract and post-contract negotiations and getting the best value for the money.
Innovative and forward-thinking with a proactive approach in dealing with stakeholders.
Well-experienced in advanced estimation and data analytics tools to make dynamic dashboards and presentations to the management.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying or similar qualification.
Minimum 15 years of experience in Estimation and Tendering including Precontract QS with a Property Developer or Civil Engineering Consultants.
Must have experience with the Cost Consultants and show the ability to produce cost plan, estimates, cost benchmarks, advance skill sets in estimation and cost analysis.
Efficient and effective Communication Skills.
Good in Problem Solving.
Good Team Player.
Excellent Organizational Skill.
Experience in Software products related to Estimation, E-Tendering, and MS Office products.
