Equity Derivatives Operations Analyst
This critical role serves Wealth Management Clients and supports the Dealing Desk and Front Office Relationship teams by ensuring the timely and accurate processing of settlement, confirmations, and life cycle management of Equity/OTC Derivatives transactions for Wealth Management clients and with counterparties/brokers.
Primary Role Responsibilities:
- Process Equity/OTC derivatives, including equity, bond, index, listed, exotic options, and interest rate swaps.
- Match, sort, and verify trade confirmations against trader’s daily reports/blotters, and follow up with the advisory desk, counterparty, and front office for any trade discrepancies.
- Monitor and process periodic fixing events, including settlements arising from options exercised/knock out and periodic interest payments.
- Create SWIFT payments and investigate and follow up on nostro and securities reconciliation breaks.
- Monitor ‘short sell’ securities positions and ensure prompt follow-up and update of daily control reports for failed and late trades or non-receipt of confirmations.
- Ensure proper management approval is obtained for special waivers and update the waiver file.
- Update and maintain internal master records for newly incepted trades, periodic exercises, knock-outs, expiries, and track the date of receipt/acknowledgment of counterparty confirmations.
- Attend to queries from the front office, advisory desk, and counterparties.
- Perform and participate in User-Acceptance-Testing and ad-hoc projects.
- Check Transaction Supplement/long-form confirmations from counterparties, monitor, and follow up in the event of non-receipt.
- Prepare manual confirmations and advice to clients.
- Monitor daily margins for Listed Options to ensure sufficient funds at the custodian level.
Requirements:
- One year of experience in a back office or support role is preferred.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and a client-focused approach.
- Adaptable to changes in processes and requirements.
- Open to fresh graduates with an intermediate level of competency in scripting Excel VBA Macros and using Excel data tools to simplify and automate tasks.
- Degree in Business or Finance.
