As a Fleet and Rentals Lead, You will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of the vehicle fleet, serving both internal use and rental services. You will also provides day-to-day level oversight of the Fleet & Rentals Technicians ensuring safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of the team. The core mission is to deliver a reliable and well-maintained fleet, contributing to the success of rental services and the efficient operation of the organization. This role requires a keen eye for detail, technical expertise, and the ability to manage inventory, perform routine maintenance, and address unexpected vehicle issues, ensuring that the fleet consistently meets high-quality standards and customer expectations.
What you will be responsible for:
Vehicle Maintenance and Repair:
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on the fleet vehicles to ensure they are in optimal working condition.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues with vehicles promptly to minimize downtime.
- Ensure that all vehicles meet safety and regulatory standards and address any safety concerns promptly.

Implement scheduled maintenance plans, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections, to extend the lifespan of the vehicles.
Inventory and Equipment Management:
- Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment required for vehicle maintenance and repair.

Ensures maintenance schedules for equipment are followed & updated appropriately
Record Keeping:
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including parts replaced, repairs performed, and maintenance schedules.
- Assists Facility & Equipment Manager by providing scheduling coverage of Lower Mainland technicians
Vehicle Presentation:
- Ensure that the vehicles are clean, both inside and out, and presentable to customers for rental services.
Rental Fleet Management and Customer Service:
- Supports the Equipment Rental Coordinator with rental-intake coverage
- Assist in the management of rental vehicle availability, ensuring that vehicles are ready for customers as scheduled.
- Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with rental customers, addressing their questions and concerns.
Emergency Response and Technical Expertise:
- Be available for emergency repairs and support for rental vehicles in the event of breakdowns or accidents.
- Stay up to date with advancements in automotive technology and industry best practices, applying this knowledge to your work.
Cost Control and Compliance:
- Work efficiently to control maintenance and repair costs while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Collaboration and Reporting:
- Work closely with other team members, including fleet managers and customer service representatives, to ensure the smooth operation of the fleet and rental services.
- Provide regular reports on fleet maintenance, vehicle availability, and any issues that may affect the operation of the fleet and rental services.

What we need from you:
- High school diploma or equivalent, with vocational training or certification in automotive technology preferred.
- Proven experience in vehicle maintenance and repair, especially with a fleet of vehicles.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and HVAC.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and address vehicle issues.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems.
- Basic computer skills for record keeping and maintenance software usage.
- Strong organizational skills to manage inventory and maintenance schedules efficiently.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills for interactions with rental customers.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency repair situations.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to ensure compliance.
- Physical fitness and dexterity to perform manual labor and lift heavy equipment when necessary.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills to work effectively with other team members.

Where/When you will be working:
- 40 hours work per week.
- Working outside and in the warehouse/yard in all types of weather.
