Equipment Maintenance Engineer

Based in Southern California with locations in Malibu, Calabasas and Camarillo; HRL has been on the leading edge of technology, conducting pioneering research and advancing the state of the art. 

Sr. Equipment Maintenance Engineer: 1st Shift

Essential Duties: 
Strength in troubleshoot and repair semiconductor and related equipment: Strong Experience with Etchers and PECVD tools. Experience with Evaporators, sputter systems, and dielectric deposition systems. Post Process tools: Polisher, Grinders. Knowledge  of compressed gases and chemical handling. Vacuum pumps including oil pumps, dry pumps, turbos, and cryo pumps and cryo compressors. Helium leak testing and understand Abatement systems a plus. 
Strong ability to interact with co-workers, engineering staff and equipment vendors in a team oriented environment. Good communication skills are essential. Work with vacuum and pressure systems. Work safely around acids, solvents, toxic and potentially hazardous gases. Work in a  ISO 4 Cleanroom. 

Required Skills: 
Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in vacuum technology. Direct support of maintaining semiconductor-processing equipment and working in ISO 4 Cleanroom environment. Experienced on a large cross section of research and fabrication equipment. Familiarity with MBE systems and UHV equipment a plus. Computer skills using Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and PowerPoint desired. 
Maintenance and repair of semiconductor equipment: Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve complex processing and support equipment. Knowledge and experience changing process gases. 

Required Education:
Desired AS or Technical School and or minimum of 7 to 10 years’ experience with maintenance repair of Semiconductor processing equipment.  Have a strong aptitude in understanding electronics schematics, mechanical, and vacuum and pressures assemblies. Ability and experience changing Process Gas bottles. Inventory and reorder of gas bottles. Read and write technical maintenance documents.  

Physical Requirements: 
Working within an ISO 4 cleanroom environment. Must be able to work safely around toxic & potentially hazardous materials, gases and chemicals. Must be sufficiently mobile to work within confined spaces and have both visual and hearing acuity. Good hand eye coordination. Respirator Training, Process Gas Training. Heavy lifting required. 

Special Requirements:
U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status required.

Compensation:
The pay range for this position is $33.08- $39.66 per hour + bonus + benefits.
