Essential Duties:

The EHS intern will assist the Health and Safety team with projects directly tied to the protection of employee health and reduction of injuries in the manufacturing environment.  Activities will also entail compliance verification and will provide learning opportunities across a variety of IH and Safety topics. This role is for the Summer 2026 internship period.

Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Conduct ergonomic assessments to identify risk factors and recommend practical improvements that help reduce the potential for injuries.
  • Assist with indoor air sampling and industrial hygiene observations, including data collection, documentation, and analysis, and provide recommendations for operational and engineering control improvements as needed.
  • Support EHS compliance auditing activities by reviewing processes, verifying adherence to regulatory and company standards, and documenting findings.
  • Participate in ongoing environmental, health, and safety initiatives, projects, and programs that promote workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to EHS activities.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned in support of the EHS team and organizational objectives.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of relevant course work experience
  • Willingness to be hands-on with projects and tasks
  • Ability to work independently
  • Hands-on experience with industrial hygiene equipment preferred but not required
  • Attending an ABET accredited safety or industrial hygiene program preferred but not required

The location of the internship is in the Reno, Nevada area (exact location is based on team placement). Interns are responsible for making their own housing and transportation arrangements. The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
