Job Description

Blue Water Thinking is seeking an Enterprise Command Center – Business Line Management Instrumentation Engineer (Dynatrace) to support enterprise observability and performance monitoring efforts. In this role, you will help implement and maintain Dynatrace monitoring capabilities, partner with stakeholders to improve visibility into system and application performance, and support operational tasks through ServiceNow workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain Dynatrace monitoring, including installing/configuring OneAgent.
  • Build and enhance Dynatrace dashboards and support basic reporting and performance insights.
  • Support integration of monitoring alerts with cloud environments such as AWS and Azure.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve monitoring and instrumentation issues to ensure reliable visibility.
  • Work assigned tasks in ServiceNow, documenting work and progress clearly.
  • Assist with onboarding/offboarding systems and devices in Dynatrace (and related monitoring tools as needed).
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure monitoring coverage aligns with system and mission needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience OR HS diploma/GED with 13+ years of relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical support involving system design, integration, or operations.
  • 1+ year of hands-on experience with Dynatrace, including:
    • OneAgent installation/configuration
    • Dashboards and basic analysis
    • Dynatrace APIs (basic familiarity acceptable)
    • Cloud alert integration exposure (AWS/Azure)
  • Ability to provide technical input to APM solution development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience performing requirements analysis, including identifying requirements and deficiencies in hardware/software products.
  • Knowledge of reviewing current APM capabilities, identifying monitoring gaps, and recommending remediation actions.
  • Ability to advise customers on monitoring solutions and provide training/knowledge transfer on monitoring tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
  • Experience with ServiceNow (incident/request/task workflows and task board usage).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Eligibility

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required Federal Public Trust clearance for this role.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $75,000 – $95,000.
