Pickle is on the hunt for a dynamic and driven Engineering Test Services Manager to lead a team that powers the future of warehouse automation. This role oversees employees responsible for the complex setup and logistics required for real-world testing of our truck-unloading robot. The team handles everything from arranging test freight and building box configurations to operating the robot itself to simulate performance in the field. You’ll ensure smooth execution of testing operations and material handling while managing day-to-day workflows, enforcing safety standards, and fostering a high-performance team culture.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate daily activities of Robot Test Operators and Warehouse Associates, ensuring testing operations run efficiently and safely.
Plan and prioritize work schedules, allocate resources, and monitor progress to meet testing objectives.
Maintain compliance with OSHA standards and implement best practices for workplace safety.
Train, coach, and develop team members to enhance skills and performance.
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to support robot testing and warehouse simulation scenarios.
Coordinate with Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to set up and execute live product demos for VIP clients, ensuring flawless operations and a professional presentation.
Oversee inventory management for testing materials and ensure proper upkeep of warehouse equipment.
Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce risk.
Lead real-time adjustments to test plans and resource schedules, resolving conflicts quickly and keeping operations on track.
Skills & Experience:
5+ years of experience in warehouse operations or material handling, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role managing small to medium-sized teams.
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and proven ability to enforce safety protocols.
Experience in robotics, automation, or a similar industrial technology environment strongly preferred.
Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.
Demonstrated ability to uphold high standards of professional conduct and team management across diverse roles, consistently setting clear expectations for performance and professionalism.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey clear instructions and collaborate effectively across teams.
Proficiency with common workplace tools for organization and communication, including Google Workspace, email, Slack, and Confluence.
Ability to work on your feet for extended periods in a fast-paced warehouse environment, including frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs and hands-on material handling.
Willingness and ability to work 5 days per week out of our warehouse in Charlestown, MA.
