SEWS—Ohio Customer Service Center (Marysville, OH)
BASIC PURPOSE:
- Evaluate wire harness components utilizing CMM, Instron, Vision Machine, Moisture Analyzer, Rubber Hardness Tester, Temperature Chamber, Caliper, Micrometer, and XRF Analyzer
- Maintain the proper working order of testing equipment of CMM, Instron, Vision machine, Moisture Analyzer, Rubber Hardness Tester, Temperature Chamber, Caliper, Micrometer, and XRF Analyzer
- Maintain 5S and safety in the lab
- Maintain inventory and records of testing plates, jigs, and fixtures
- Maintain and arrange calibration of evaluation equipment.
- Maintain the calibration schedule and calibration records of each lab equipment.
- Review and maintain Quality and Inspection documentation including Inspection reports, and Evaluation schedule.
- Standardize the testing methodology by creating and updating Work Instructions for continuous improvement of testing methods

Plan and procure jig fixtures for different projects
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set-up and operate testing equipment required for new component evaluation including the CMM, Instron, Vision Machine, Moisture Analyzer, Rubber Hardness Tester, Temperature Chamber, Caliper, Micrometer, and XRF Analyzer.
- Evaluate the appearance, function, dimension, and raw material of components to support SEWS trial and APQP activities. In case of any failures or defects, investigate root cause through detailed analysis and additional testing.
- Prepare component evaluation inspection reports.
- Maintain the working order of all CEG equipment. Maintain logs to track calibration and jig inventory.
- Maintain and file inspection reports and other lab documentation.
- Create and/or maintain Work Instructions and procedures for processes involving evaluation and/or the evaluation laboratory.
- Standardize the testing methodology by creating and updating Work Instructions for continuous improvement of testing methods.
- Educate and train CEG engineers for component evaluation methodologies.
- Maintain 5S & Safety in the lab.
- Conduct XRF testing with x-ray equipment to test for Substances of Concern.
- Assist in ordering new lab equipment, test places, jigs and fixtures from various sources.
QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENT:
- High School Degree/GED and Technical Certificate and 3-5 years of progressive engineering experience.
- In-depth knowledge and experience of component evaluation utilizing CMM, Vision Machine, and Instron.
- Experience in automotive industry components development.
- Must be able to demonstrate ability to use a CMM, Vision Machine and Instron.
- Must have a good understanding of GD&T (Certification of GD&T is preferred).
- Team oriented with good communication skills and strong motivation to challenging tasks.
- Capable of multi-tasking (component evaluation, equipment or jig ordering, evaluation planning, etc)
- Good understanding of Microsoft Office programs; especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Typing speed: Minimum 50 words per minute
