CMT is seeking an Engineering Technician VI (HVAC) who possesses a comprehensive combination of experience and qualifications from both HVAC Technician roles, including advanced HVAC repair, control systems expertise, and mechanical maintenance of complex building infrastructure.


Engineering Technician VI (HVAC)

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain, install, and repair commercial heating and air-conditioning systems, controls, and related subsystems and components.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot air distribution, air balancing, stratification, building insulation, and vapor deficiencies.
  • Repair or replace failed sensors, transmitters, and transducers for control systems.
  • Repair, retrofit, or install new direct digital control (DDC) systems’ hardware and software.
  • Adjust boilers, chillers, air handling units, motor controls, and refrigerant systems’ operating parameters from their own interface panels or the building automation systems (BAS).
  • Install, maintain, and retrofit new electro-mechanical relay logic control circuits, pneumatic logic controls, damper or valve actuators, and/or variable frequency drives.
  • Perform program maintenance work and routine checkups to ensure the DDC system continues to operate as commissioned, including backups and database server maintenance.
  • Monitor and inspect construction projects and contract work to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and with national, state, and local code requirements.
  • Maintains records of work performed and parts and materials used.
  • Maintain records of equipment operation logs to include temperature, pressures, volts, amps, combustion efficiency reports, safety inspections, and equipment refrigerant records.
  • Maintain records of equipment failures and repairs


Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3 years of experience in heating, cooling, and ventilation systems.
  • The equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and expertise to perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.
  • HVAC Journeyman’s License, Section 608 Universal Certification, Driver’s License

Salary
$35 – $40 per hour
