Engineering Manager / Team Lead

AI overview

Lead a fully remote team of engineers to deliver high-quality features, drive day-to-day execution, and influence technical direction with a focus on people and process.

Reveal is an award-winning embedded analytics SDK that helps software teams add powerful, white-labeled dashboards and reporting directly into their applications. Unlike iFrame-based solutions, Reveal is a true native SDK—giving developers full control over branding, deployment, and the end-user experience across web, desktop, and mobile platforms. With AI-powered conversational analytics and support for ASP.NET Core, Java, and Node backends, we're helping ISVs and enterprises turn their data into actionable insights without the complexity or unpredictable costs of traditional BI tools.

We're looking for an Engineering Manager / Team Lead to join our Reveal team. You'll lead a fully remote team of 12 engineers—driving day-to-day execution, removing blockers, and ensuring we deliver high-quality features on time. While this is primarily a leadership role focused on people and process, a strong technical background will help you collaborate effectively with the team, make informed decisions, and jump in when needed.

You will have end-to-end ownership of your team’s execution, technical quality, and people development, with the autonomy to shape processes and influence technical direction in collaboration with product and architecture leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a cross-functional team of engineers responsible for development, QA, documentation, and support
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, provide ongoing feedback, and support career growth
  • Handle performance reviews and goal setting
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team culture
  • Effectively lead a distributed remote team, including coordinating across time zones with team members and leadership in the US, Uruguay, and Bulgaria.
  • Drive day-to-day execution and keep the team on track to meet commitments
  • Remove blockers and shield the team from distractions
  • Own sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and manage priorities and tradeoffs
  • Gather and clarify requirements when specs are incomplete or undefined—sometimes you'll need to figure it out as you go
  • Adapt quickly to shifting priorities, including critical customer issues and internal needs
  • Balance new feature development with managing technical debt and platform maintenance
  • Collaborate with product management to refine the roadmap and ensure alignment
  • Participate in technical discussions and architecture decisions; provide guidance when needed
  • Ensure quality standards and best practices are maintained across the team's work
  • Communicate team status, risks, and progress to leadership

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent on-the-job experience
  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • 4+ years of engineering management experience
  • Strong technical background with experience in C# and the .NET ecosystem
  • Experience with agile/scrum methodologies
  • Proven ability to mentor and develop engineers at various levels
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities
  • Experience managing remote or distributed teams

Nice to Have

  • Experience with ASP.NET, Java, or Node server-side development
  • Familiarity with web technologies (JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Angular)
  • Background in SDK/API design or developer tools
  • Exposure to embedded analytics, BI, or data visualization
  • Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into products

What Success Looks Like

  • The team consistently delivers high-quality features with predictable execution
  • Engineers are engaged, supported, and growing in their careers
  • Technical debt and platform health are managed proactively, not reactively
  • Collaboration with product and other teams is smooth and transparent
  • Leadership has clear visibility into progress, risks, and tradeoffs
