Come shape the future of mental health at Osmind! We're looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead our product engineering team and help build the next generation of products that will serve psychiatric providers and their patients. About Osmind Osmind is a technology, services, and data company focused exclusively on psychiatry. We serve a network of 800+ independent psychiatry practices across 49 states, helping clinics provide high-quality care, scale as businesses, and contribute to research with our purpose-built EHR, software solutions, and managed services. Osmind is a San Francisco–based Series B funded Public Benefit Corporation backed by top investors including DFJ Growth, Future Ventures, General Catalyst, and Y Combinator. We're building something that moves the needle on the global mental health crisis. We're at an exciting inflection point—we grew 100% last year and are currently launching a brand new platform that will define the future of Osmind. This is a rare opportunity to help shape the technical foundation of our next chapter. The Opportunity We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager who is passionate about building exceptional software while leading a high-performing team. You'll manage a team of engineers delivering all product engineering work at Osmind, balancing hands-on technical contributions (~30-40% time) with people management and engineering excellence. Reporting directly to the CTO, you'll be a key member of the engineering leadership team, helping shape our technical strategy and culture while working closely with product, design, and clinical teams to build scalable solutions that directly impact patient outcomes. This role is based in San Francisco, working in the office twice a week to foster collaboration and connection, managing local and remote team members. What You'll Do
  • Own the delivery and quality of all product engineering work, ensuring your team consistently ships features that improve workflows for psychiatrists and practice operations
  • Manage, mentor, and grow a team of senior+ product engineers (both in-office and remote) through regular 1:1s, feedback, and career development
  • Contribute code regularly (~30-40% time), participating in architecture decisions, code reviews, and unblocking complex technical challenges
  • Partner with Product to drive sprint planning, estimation, and execution, translating roadmap into shipped features
  • Be accountable for engineering velocity, quality metrics, and system reliability—balancing technical debt with feature delivery
  • Establish and maintain engineering processes that enable the team to move quickly without sacrificing quality
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in engineering management
  • Proven track record of managing engineering teams in small startup environments
  • Experience building 0-1 products from concept to launch with minimal resources and maximum impact
  • Strong technical foundation with the ability to contribute meaningfully to our Node / TypeScript codebase
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to thrive in fast-paced startup environments
  • Based in San Francisco or willing to relocate (relocation assistance may be provided). Able to come into our Mission District SF office 2x week
  • Authorized to work in the United States (Osmind does not sponsor immigration visas at the moment)
  • Nice to Haves
  • Experience building healthcare or fintech products in regulated environments
  • Experience with AI/ML integration in production applications
  • Passion for mental health and improving access to innovative psychiatric treatments
  • Osmind is building the digital infrastructure for the next era of mental health. Osmind EHR is the #1 software for treatment-resistant mental health practices such as those in psychiatry, ketamine, psychedelic medicine, and neuromodulation.
