Lead the engineering team for IAM & Entitlements, enhancing secure interactions with our platform while promoting a culture of mentorship and engineering excellence.
Build the foundation for a net-zero future. At PVcase, we’re building the end-to-end platform for the design and development of utility-scale solar projects. As our ecosystem grows, we are looking for a technical leader to help us build a secure, scalable, and resilient foundation for identity, access, and feature management.
As the Engineering Manager for IAM & Entitlements, you will lead the team responsible for the core systems that govern how our users securely interact with our products. This is a role for a leader who values technical mentorship, thrives in evolving environments, and can translate complex foundational requirements into clear, actionable plans that balance long-term scalability with immediate engineering needs.
What you’ll do:
Lead and mentor a distributed team of engineers by acting as a technical mentor and career coach and fostering a culture of high ownership and continuous learning.
Champion platform thinking by treating our IAM, Entitlement, RBAC, and feature flagging services as internal products that provide self-service templates and standards for secure, minimal-friction feature integration across all engineering teams.
Drive the strategic and adoption roadmap for authentication, authorization, and complex entitlement logic in close partnership with Product and Security.
Ensure the long-term resiliency of our core services by fostering a culture of deep system observability and treating reliability as a foundational feature.
Unlock engineering velocity by identifying opportunities to automate routine toil and integrate modern technologies that optimize the SDLC and improve system quality.
Facilitate technical trade-offs and architectural decision and promote modern engineering practices to ensure sustainable trade-offs.
Deep technical expertise in modern identity standards (OAuth2, OIDC) and experience implementing robust RBAC or ABAC models.
A proven history of leading engineering teams in SaaS or cloud-native environments while prioritizing the health and growth of your team.
An advocate for engineering excellence with a track record of managing distributed, mission-critical systems, you understand how to leverage observability to move a team from reactive firefighting to proactive system hardening.
A focus on outcomes over outputs, building an adaptable environment where your team is empowered to solve complex challenges that unlock real business value.
A strategic communicator and adept stakeholder manager, capable of connecting technical constraints with a broader product vision while negotiating priorities across both technical and non-technical audiences
Bonus Skills (Nice-to-have)
You are interested in how AI-augmented development can reduce cognitive load for your team, allowing engineers to focus less on boilerplate and more on high-level system design and architecture.
You are a systems thinker who enjoys the challenge of managing entitlements and feature flags as internal products, understanding how they impact both system performance and the developer experience for the rest of the engineering org.
You have a genuine interest in or professional experience within the renewable energy sector, helping you connect technical identity solutions to real-world solar project challenges.
Don't meet every single requirement? We value diverse perspectives and transferable skills. If you’re passionate about solar and have led engineering teams, we’d still love to hear from you.
Our Tech Stack (and where you come in)
We build our foundation using C#/.NET and Python within an AWS and Kubernetes environment. Our architecture leans heavily on Domain-Driven Design, Event Sourcing, and SNS/SQS for messaging, all managed via Infrastructure as Code (Terraform). While you will not be a primary individual contributor, your technical background will help you facilitate architectural decisions, conduct high-level reviews, and promote modern engineering practices across the team.
