About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Java engineering team. This team builds our industry-leading products and drives the success of our company.
You will focus on people leadership, process excellence, and driving innovation in how we work. Success in this role means clean releases, clear coordination, and productive engineers.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of 5-10 engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Create processes that drive quality and efficiency
- Develop work plans and assign tasks, balancing priorities, resources, and capabilities
- Track statuses, keep everything moving on-time and make sure no balls are dropped.
- Review code and mentor engineers on career growth, performance, and best practices.
- Encourage adoption of AI and other productivity tools to enhance engineering efficiency.
- Communicate progress, risks, and process improvements to stakeholders.
- Light hands-on development (~10%)
- Occasional evening/weekend work for releases or production issues
Qualifications
Required:
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, including DevOps.
- 3+ years of experience managing engineers
- Experience working in a SaaS environment
- Experience leveraging AI for software development
- Working knowledge of Java/Tomcat/Spring development, relational DBs and AWS services

Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Preferred:
- Experience coaching engineers and improving development processes.
- Experience driving adoption of AI or other productivity tools.
- Experience improving release quality and CI/CD practices.
- Experience in small business finance or related industries
