Accountabilities:
Lead and manage an engineering team responsible for distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and financial platform services
Ensure delivery, quality, and operational excellence of production systems, guiding technical and architectural decisions
Translate ambiguous business requirements into clear engineering plans, priorities, and actionable initiatives
Oversee budgeting, staffing, and resource planning for the team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
Mentor, coach, and develop engineers at all levels, fostering a high-performing and collaborative culture
Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to align technical strategy with business objectives
Drive process improvements, operational excellence, and best practices for secure, scalable infrastructure in a regulated environment
Requirements:
12+ years of experience in software engineering, including significant experience managing engineering teams
Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams through multiple product cycles
Deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and platform engineering (experience with GCP or other major cloud platforms)
Experience owning delivery, quality, and operational excellence for production systems in regulated or financial services environments
Strong ability to translate complex and ambiguous business requirements into actionable engineering plans
Experience with budgeting, staffing, and resource planning for engineering teams
Demonstrated approach to developing talent through coaching, mentoring, and growth initiatives
Excellent communication skills and ability to influence senior leadership and collaborate across functions
Preferred / Bonus Skills:
Experience building ledger systems, virtual accounting layers, or financial custody infrastructure
Background in fintech, banking-as-a-service, or other regulated financial environments
Familiarity with on-call rotations, incident management, and operational excellence frameworks
Knowledge of regulatory requirements for financial institutions (SOC 2, bank examinations, etc.)
Experience managing multiple teams or other managers
Background in cryptocurrency or digital assets
