  • Lead and manage an engineering team responsible for distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and financial platform services
  • Ensure delivery, quality, and operational excellence of production systems, guiding technical and architectural decisions
  • Translate ambiguous business requirements into clear engineering plans, priorities, and actionable initiatives
  • Oversee budgeting, staffing, and resource planning for the team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
  • Mentor, coach, and develop engineers at all levels, fostering a high-performing and collaborative culture
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to align technical strategy with business objectives
  • Drive process improvements, operational excellence, and best practices for secure, scalable infrastructure in a regulated environment
  • Requirements:
  • 12+ years of experience in software engineering, including significant experience managing engineering teams
  • Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams through multiple product cycles
  • Deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and platform engineering (experience with GCP or other major cloud platforms)
  • Experience owning delivery, quality, and operational excellence for production systems in regulated or financial services environments
  • Strong ability to translate complex and ambiguous business requirements into actionable engineering plans
  • Experience with budgeting, staffing, and resource planning for engineering teams
  • Demonstrated approach to developing talent through coaching, mentoring, and growth initiatives
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence senior leadership and collaborate across functions
  • Preferred / Bonus Skills:
  • Experience building ledger systems, virtual accounting layers, or financial custody infrastructure
  • Background in fintech, banking-as-a-service, or other regulated financial environments
  • Familiarity with on-call rotations, incident management, and operational excellence frameworks
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for financial institutions (SOC 2, bank examinations, etc.)
  • Experience managing multiple teams or other managers
  • Background in cryptocurrency or digital assets
