Engineering Manager – AI Document Generation

We're looking for a strong Engineering Manager to form and lead a brand-new team focused on AI-powered document generation at PandaDoc. This person will be responsible for assembling the team, setting the vision, and driving execution in a high-uncertainty environment. The team will own the end-to-end experience of generating high-quality business documents (like proposals, quotes, contracts) using advanced AI models. This is a rare opportunity to shape a zero-to-one product area with broad impact across our customer base and platform.

In this role, you will be:

• Hiring, onboarding, and developing engineers for the team.
• Driving the technical vision and execution of AI-driven document generation.
• Collaborating closely with Product, AI/ML, and Design partners to build intuitive, performant, and reliable user experiences.
• Balancing fast-paced experimentation with production-grade scalability and security.
• Fostering a strong team culture of ownership, trust, and continuous improvement.
• Helping define long-term architecture and integration of AI services within our platform.

About you:

• Proven experience managing engineering teams (ideally 5+ engineers) for 2+ years.
• Experience in building or scaling zero-to-one product initiatives.
• Solid background in development, preferably in SaaS.
• Familiarity with AI/ML technologies and integrating LLMs or generative AI into user-facing products.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A mindset of ownership, curiosity, and delivering customer value quickly.

Nice to Have:

• Experience managing distributed teams.
