Engineering Lead

We are looking for a brilliant Rubyist to join us as Tech Lead to work alongside our hands-on CTO. You’ll be a pivotal part of the team with a valued opinion on everything delivering software products entails from process, architecture, all the way through to tooling. We have recently closed our seed round from some top tier investors and are now fully focused on realising our vision and delivering our product roadmap to users.
 

The Job

Life at Tembo promises to be both exciting and rewarding. You’ll be a valued voice on our small team (growing weekly!) and have the chance to have a huge impact over the future direction of the technical platform.

On a day to day basis you will be:

  • Developing features & functionality as we move beyond MVP
  • Championing best practices across the codebase
  • Identifying & resolving performance issues and bugs
  • Pivotal in the technical design & architecture of the platform
  • Helping shape development processes as we scale the team
  • Helping build an open, collaborative team culture
  • Coaching and supporting new (sometimes junior) developers

  • You’re happy owning tickets all the way through to production
  • You’re focused on delivering value to users
  • You know the right way to do things, while still being pragmatic
  • You enjoy architecting systems - its down to us to lay the foundation we’ll build on for years to come
  • You’re happy operating in the problem space, not just knocking down tickets
