The Mission

Panther's Ingestion & Application team is the engine that powers customer success. We're building seamless integrations with 100+ data sources, enrichment providers, and alert destinations that enable security teams at companies like Block, Bitstamp, Cockroach Labs, Grindr, and Asana to protect their organizations at scale. This team's work directly determines how quickly customers can onboard, prove value in POCs, and drive revenue growth. We're looking for an engineering leader who can scale this high-performing, autonomous team while maintaining the velocity, ownership, and reliability standards the team has built.

The Team + Role

You'll lead a team of 8 talented engineers based primarily in Greece (Athens or Thessaloniki, with one in New York), with plans to grow further! This is Panther's most autonomous engineering team - they own critical domains that drive out-of-box integrations essential for winning POCs and closing deals. Your role is less about being close to the code and more about enabling this exceptional team through strategic direction, removing blockers, mentoring talent, and partnering with product, sales, and customer success to ensure the team's work translates into customer love. You'll need strong business awareness and comfort engaging with customers to understand their integration needs.

What You'll Need

Leadership & People Management:

  • 2-4 years of people management experience leading product engineering teams
  • Proven track record of hiring, developing, and retaining high-performing engineers
  • Experience managing cross-disciplinary teams and owning all aspects of people leadership
  • Strong partnership skills with recruiting teams to scale headcount effectively

Business & Product Acumen:

  • Experience working in product-sales environments with direct customer exposure
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous environments and making strategic decisions with incomplete information
  • Track record of partnering with Product Managers and Designers to define vision and roadmap
  • Experience owning user-facing product features from conception to delivery

Technical Foundation:

  • Technical depth to participate in architecture discussions and unblock teams on complex design decisions
  • AWS experience preferred (serverless architectures, cloud infrastructure)
  • Cybersecurity background is a nice-to-have but not required
  • Familiarity with modern engineering stacks (Golang, React, TypeScript, GraphQL) helpful

  • Mentor engineers and create career development paths that retain top talent
  • Make strategic hiring decisions and partner with recruiting to build a world-class team
  • Participate in technical and design discussions, serving as the escalation point for architecture decisions
  • Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives as a member of Panther's engineering management team
  • Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and ship on time while maintaining team autonomy
  • Drive process improvements that help the team move faster without sacrificing quality

Cash compensation range: €75k - €85k per year (along with the three bonus salaries mandated by Greek law)
