Engineer Intern at SpotHero: 

We are seeking motivated and talented individuals for our Summer Engineering Internship Program. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work alongside our engineering team on real projects that contribute to our company's goals. You will gain hands-on experience, mentorship, and insights into the engineering processes within a growth stage company.

Learn about the Money Squad:
The Money Squad at SpotHero is responsible for powering all things money related.  This squad is responsible for writing and supporting the code interfacing with payment processing services to both accept and refund payments from our consumers. Additionally we support internal teams by providing APIs to power things such as the end users the checkout experience and operator control panel.  We don’t stop there, we also work closely with our finance team to ensure they have the data they need to properly balance the books. This Squad cares about quality and SpotHero’s value of #GiveDriversTheRightOfWay, which means to us that we take the Hero in our name seriously, and we go the extra mile to make sure our drivers have an experience we're proud of.

What you’ll do: 

• Collaborate with a cross-functional team of engineering, product and design to design, develop, and test products.
• Participate in the full lifecycle of product development, from concept to deployment.
• Assist in the troubleshooting and debugging of technical issues.
• Engage in learning opportunities and professional development activities.

What we are looking for: 

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field, or a recent graduate.
• A foundation in engineering principles
• Basic proficiency in SQL, a programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Kotlin), and engineering tools
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Seeking Candidates in

• Chicago, IL - 1-2x per week in office

Compensation in Illinois:

• $25/hour; 40 hours a week
