What will you be doing in this role?

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including all contracted suppliers, to ensure effective building operations.
  • Oversee the shift from project implementation to steady-state building operations and ensure timely initial operational capability.
  • Manage and coordinate all operation and maintenance activities for the facility and technical installations, ensuring compliance with business and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee maintenance works, modifications, and ad hoc projects in collaboration with contractors.
  • Ensure the safe operation of premises and installations in line with health and safety standards and legislation.
  • Plan and manage contracts and service providers for hard and soft services, including utilities, maintenance, cleaning, and catering.
  • Supply data and analysis to support business cases and develop cost-effective technical solutions.
  • Conduct and document regular facilities inspections.
  • Manage the allocated budget and act as fund manager for O&M and capital investment activities.
  • Prepare annual budget inputs and oversee expenditure for operations, renovations, upgrades, and construction projects.
  • Supervise multidisciplinary teams, including technical maintenance, cleaning, and catering staff.

Requirements

What do you need to succeed in this position?

  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering and/or Science in Construction, with strong expertise in assessing building performance, maintenance needs and long-term infrastructure reliability.
  • At least 10 years of engineering experience, with demonstrated success in quality control, project coordination, site supervision, ensuring the projects are completed on time and within budget and in alignment with H&S regulations.
  • Certified Fire Safety Expert with a strong understanding of building regulations and energy-efficient practices.
  • Proven ability to manage projects, identify technical issues, and implement effective maintenance and safety solutions.
  • Strong grasp of engineering programs, ability to quickly master new tools and method.
  • Good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling civil infrastructure programs.
  • Familiarity with the procurement process including negotiation with third parties.
  • Experience of project management methods.
  • Previous experience with budgeting and resource allocation procedures.
  • Advanced English (C1) communication skills (written and spoken).
