Engineer (Firmware)

Duties: Work across engineering teams to gather and synthesize component level requirements into firmware/diagnostic implementation specifications. Ownership of the strategy, design, and implementation of diagnostic capabilities for various compute and control components within the autonomous vehicle architecture. Participate in vehicle bring-up and testing activities. Champion continuous improvement efforts to drive down defects and improve quality. Work extensively with typical robot sensors. Work extensively with automotive software architecture using Autosar, DCM and ECM, and UDS. Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a directly related field plus three (3) years of experience with SW/HW integration and software development on embedded systems. Must have three (3) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently): C/C++ and Python or other scripting language development experience in a Unix/Linux environment. Experience developing embedded software in a real time operating system environment. Experience with software engineering principles, including requirements gathering, software design, source control management, build processes, code reviews, and testing methods. Hands-on experience using inter-system communication protocols, including I2C, UART, SPI, and Ethernet. Experience with computing architectures, including high performance computer platforms, MCUs, SoCs, and their associated hardware computing platforms. Experience with Polarion, JIRA, or Quality Management Systems. Experience can be gained before/during/after undergraduate degree. 40 hours per week. Ref. SRBOS2023.
