Energy Paralegal

Responsibilities:

  1. Legal Research: Conducting in-depth research on complex energy laws, regulations, and case law related to utility regulation. 
  2. Document Drafting and Review: Preparing legal documents such as contracts, lease agreements, easement agreements, power purchase agreements, and regulatory filings related to energy projects. 
  3. Compliance Monitoring: Tracking changes in energy regulations and ensuring compliance with relevant laws for energy companies, including reporting requirements. 
  4. Due Diligence: Performing legal due diligence on potential energy project acquisitions, including reviewing land titles, environmental assessments, and regulatory compliance. 
  5. Litigation Support: Assisting attorneys in preparing for litigation related to energy disputes, including gathering evidence, drafting legal briefs, and managing discovery. 

Requirements

  1. Prior experience as a paralegal in a law firm specializing in energy law or within the legal department of an energy company.
  2. Knowledge of specific energy sectors like solar, wind, or oil and gas.
