Embedded Software Developer (Audio_PA) (w/m/div.)

As our new Embedded Software Engineer you designs, implements and tests the software according to specifications and architecture. The Software Engineer works in a team. The Software Engineer strives to produce Clean Code.

 

Key areas of responsibility

  • Refine requirements
  • Design, code and unit-test the software to implement part of the software in scope of the activities assigned to or selected by the Software Engineer
  • Documents the design
  • Integrates (commits) his software into the trunk after assuring no build-fail due to these commits
  • Commits on a regular basis
  • Analyses and fixes build fails on the trunk as fast as possible
  • Analyses and fixes defects as fast as possible
  • Produces Clean Code
  • Create and maintain SW components used by other teams and departments
  • Consults Open Source Software officer in case of usage of OSS
  • Keeps abreast of technical developments in own field through study of literature and technical contacts

 

Main experience required

  • Experience in the design of software systems by Object Orientation as well as procedural
  • Experience in programming
  • Experience in programming in multi-threaded environment
  • Experience in analyzing and debugging
  • Experience in Configuration Management tools like e.g. Subversion, Git

 

Necessary know how / skills

  • University education in computer or software science at Bachelor level or higher
  • You are able and willing to work at least 2-3 days per week at the Ovar office
  • Specific knowledge of relevant design & modeling methods like e.g. UML
  • Knowledge of main programming languages like e.g. C/C++
  • Intelligent, abstract, analytical and creative thinker
  • Is able to look, realistically, beyond the well-trodden paths
  • Lateral thinker with helicopter view, capable of finding an appropriate solution to complex problems
  • Has a strong drive to produce Clean Code

Embedded

For Embedded typically affinity with hardware and knowledge of C/C++, understanding how a compiler interprets and creates actual machine-code, understanding memory management and debugging with limited resources is the context in which the function profile should be interpreted.

Specific requirements:

  • Experience in C and C++ programming languages
  • Experience in component driven SW development
  • Experience in using Linux and/or FreeRTOS
  • Experience in driver development
