ABOUT THE ROLE

Job Title: Email Content Editor 

Reporting to: Digital Content Director 

Location: London, United Kingdom 

Ways of Working: UK, Hybrid, Full time (two days in Fleet Street office, three days remote work) 

Contract Type: 3-Month Fixed Term Contract 

ROLE PURPOSE

The Email Content Editor is responsible for planning, creating, and optimising Stylist’s email communications to drive audience engagement, subscriber growth, and commercial performance. This role ensures all email content is accurate, inclusive, and aligned with brand guidelines, while leveraging data insights to maximise open rates, click-throughs, and conversions. Acting as a key liaison between editorial, design, and commercial teams, the Email Content Editor maintains forward plans, manages deadlines, and supports cross-functional initiatives to deliver high-quality, innovative email experiences that reflect Stylist’s voice and values.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creating and coordinating an editorial content flat plan that spans the Stylist newsletter database  
  • Working with the editorial team to ensure the best, most engaging content is published across all newsletters 
  • Scheduling and publishing all emails, or if this is undertaken by the team, reviewing and signing-off emails before publication 
  • Understanding newsletter KPIs and striving toward ambitious targets set by the Digital Content Director 
  • Proofreading emails for spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, factual errors etc., ensuring that all copy is accurate and adheres to the Stylist brand guidelines, as well as including affiliate links wherever possible 
  • Ensuring sign-off times are met and any editorial or commercial issues/queries are dealt with in a timely manner 
  • Coordinating as needed with the art team with clear instructions and deadlines 
  • Agreeing on any commercial inclusions or activity surrounding email and communicating this to writers and editors as needed 
  • Maintaining a close eye on trends in our competitor set and ensure we remain current in both content and functionality

Requirements

ABOUT YOU

  • You will have an editorial background and be confident writing at speed, accurately and using Stylist’s tone.  
  • You will have experience writing subject and preview lines for emails, and assessing and understanding the data received from our email platform. 
  • You will be confident assessing, understanding and applying knowledge gained from newsletter data.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Core Skills: Content authoring, Content publishing, Digital marketing, Data analysis, Stakeholder relationship management.
