The Electronics System Program Manager serves as a program leader responsible for driving the planning and execution of activities beginning with R&D production engineering through certification for the low voltage, harnessing, and aircraft monitoring systems. This role serves as a bridge between aircraft system development, regulatory compliance, and production to ensure the safety, performance, and delivery of emerging technologies.
The ideal candidate is self-directed and capable of providing tactical and strategic program management to support new and existing programs. The candidate will be highly adept at collaborating with internal and external teams such as engineering, certification, supply chain, quality, safety, and production systems, along with suppliers, contractors, and consultants. How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:
The successful candidate will lead a cross-functional team to ensure the timely and successful execution of complex programs, driving operational excellence, and meeting customer expectations. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of navigating the challenges of a dynamic, growing organization.
Track and drive actions on the electronics team from design development through verification & certification, inclusive of design, systems engineering, supply chain, quality, manufacturing, and production teams
Manage three distinct electronic aircraft systems that roll up to 2-3 aircraft programs
Develop and maintain detailed project plans and tracking mechanisms to communicate schedules, progress, budget, and status to all levels of the business
Align with other Project and Program Managers responsible for specific aircraft systems, e.g. structural design, flight control systems, avionics, etc. to ensure successful system integration
Effectively communicate systems statuses, risks, and help needed to program and business leadership and relevant stakeholders
Identify, eliminate, mitigate, and/or put contingency plans in place for all blockers and potential risks
Document the system progress against the remainder of the aircraft program progress using multiple project management tools
Monitor the team’s status against budget, goals, and highlight risks and opportunities to the Program Manager
Establish a cross-functional Integrated Program Team (IPT) to ensure alignment between engineering, certification, quality, supply chain, finance, and manufacturing teams with the overall business strategy
Capable of supporting varied business needs as priorities evolve; able to fill gaps in the team as needed, included, but not limited to, pushing design releases, requesting and tracking inventory moves, reporting on production statuses, and customer support.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
5 years of project or program management experience
Understanding of regulatory certification processes including type certification and production certification
Proven track record of managing complex projects or programs from inception to completion, demonstrating strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and lead teams
Excellent organizational, time management skills, with the ability to manage parallel workstreams effectively
Capable of handling competing priorities while ensuring timely follow-through on all commitments
Able to be a pragmatic and creative thinker when solving complex problems in a dynamic environment
Willingness to be a team player and wear different hats on different days depending on the need
Ability to remain positive and mitigate risk when course corrections are required
Microsoft 365/office Proficiency including SharePoint, Outlook, Calendar, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
Working knowledge of Project Management tools (MS Project, Jira, others)
Above and Beyond Qualifications:
Project or program management experience in commercial aviation
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
Experience with FAA regulations and certification requirements
Experience with 3DExperience (PLM) and/or Plex (ERP)
