Electrical Test Engineering Co-Op

The Test Engineering Intern is responsible for the development and execution of tests to ensure products meet the product performance specifications of commercial security products.  The individual will participate in a structured product development process analyzing requirements for testability, documenting test cases, developing and executing corresponding test processes, analyzing test data, and communicating test coverage/status information to the project team.

The Test Engineering Intern is responsible for the development and execution of tests to ensure products meet the product performance specifications of commercial security products.  The individual will participate in a structured product development process analyzing requirements for testability, documenting test cases, developing and executing corresponding test processes, analyzing test data, and communicating test coverage/status information to the project team.

Test Solution Development:

  • Work with internal/external customers to analyze and document their test needs.
  • Propose test strategies to meet the technical and schedule needs of the project.
  • Drive the development of electrical, electromechanical, and software platforms to facilitate testing.
  • Ensure fixture documentation contains accurate schematics, mechanical drawings, and parts lists.

Verification and Troubleshooting:

  • Design, execute and evaluate results of repeatability and reliability studies.
  • Troubleshoot product and test equipment, propose and implement fixes.
  • Analyze test results and generate product performance and trending reports.

Communication:

  • Mentor/train engineers and technicians in usage of test fixtures, processes, and equipment.
  • Coordinate efforts to resolve technical or logistical problems and communicate plans to team.
  • Communicate project status to customer and verify their satisfaction with delivered test solutions.
  • To be successful in this position individual must have a high level of self-motivation, a drive for self-development and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The U.S. based hourly rate for this role is between $25.00 - $26.00/hour.  Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc.
