This internship is a part of a 10-week full-time summer internship program opportunity. This role will be based at Archer’s headquarters in San Jose, California and relocation or housing will not be provided. 

Archer is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join Archer. This internship provides a hands-on opportunity to gain practical experience within the inverter team. You will support the design and testing of inverter systems for our eVTOL aircraft, powering electric motors, generators, and flight actuators. Your work directly impacts flight performance, efficiency, and safety.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and build reliable test equipment to validate and certify electronic propulsion systems.  
  • Work together with Design Engineers, System Engineers, and Reliability Engineers to Identify design critical operating modes and create design validation test plans.
  • Work with test technicians to build validation test setups and execute test plans and teardowns.
  • Investigate device failures, PCBA fixture debugging to determine root cause and drive product improvements.
  • Follow safety procedures for operating with and around high voltage and high power systems.
  • Identify and plan critical tests to validate new technologies.

What You Need:

  • Going into the 2nd or 3rd year in college career in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with PCBA layout tools
  • Hands on experience designing and building electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Hands on experience debugging electrical systems.
  • Good understanding of electrical circuit design and power electronics.
  • Experience with Python, MATLAB, NI, or other data acquisition and analysis software.
  • Experience with electrical test equipment, hand tools, power tools.
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization, JMP, Python, Minitab etc.
  • Strong communicator, presenter, and writer of clear technical content
  • Experience with formula E, solar car or robotics is a plus


Summer 2026 Internship Program Details:

  • This internship is a part of a 10-week full-time summer internship program opportunity. Program dates are:
    • *We will not be able to accommodate interns outside of these two program dates.
    • May 26, 2026 - July 31, 2026
    • June 15, 2026 - August 21, 2026
  • This role will be based at Archer HQ in San Jose, CA
  • Relocation and housing will not be provided.
