Your Role
The role of Electrical Manufacturing/Test Engineer requires the know-how and ambition to support manufacturing needs for new products. This includes specifying, programming, and deploying equipment for the assembly and testing of our IoT products, interpreting results and telemetry from test processes, and communicating these results to design engineers, manufacturing managers, and other relevant groups. The role is part test design, part project management, and part factory setup and sustaining.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, validate, and continuously improve electrical test systems, including bed-of-nails, flashing, and functional test solutions, by defining test architecture, selecting appropriate methods and equipment, and optimizing performance to ensure reliable product verification and manufacturing readiness.
- Partner with design and engineering teams to define test requirements, review product specifications, and translate functional expectations into executable test strategies in order to support accurate validation and smooth product introduction.
- Create, document, and qualify test plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria by applying engineering standards, analyzing risk, and verifying repeatability so that test coverage is complete, traceable, and aligned with quality requirements.
- Coordinate with external vendors in the development of test hardware by communicating technical requirements, reviewing designs, and supporting build and debug activities to ensure delivered solutions meet performance, cost, and timeline expectations.
- Interface with contract manufacturers, including outside standard working hours when required, by supporting implementation, troubleshooting, and production test readiness to maintain continuity across global manufacturing operations.
- Analyze production and test data from databases, spreadsheets, and other sources by consolidating information, identifying trends, and investigating failures in order to detect issues early and drive corrective actions.
- Communicate test results, telemetry findings, and issue analysis to design engineers, manufacturing leaders, and other cross-functional stakeholders by presenting clear data-driven conclusions and recommendations to support informed decision-making and product improvement.
- Support factory setup, test deployment, and sustaining activities by coordinating equipment introduction, resolving test-related issues, and improving ongoing processes to enable stable, scalable, and efficient manufacturing operations.
- Operate effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment by managing multiple priorities, adapting to evolving business needs, and taking on additional responsibilities as needed to support team growth and organizational objectives.
